Engelbrecht is the Man of the Match. Engelbrecht: "First one (Super Over) I have been involved in and first one I have bowled. I am not going to lie. It was a little bit of a surprise (to be given the Super Over), but the ball was coming out well, and I had a bit of confidence and I was ready to take on the challenge. You try and change and adapt. I try and have plans but it is hard to figure out how every ball is going to go. (Pace to bowl at) is very important for a spinner. Robbie (Peterson) spoke about the pace, he also tried to calm me down as did the other senior players. I am not very calm normally. Credit to Robbie."
Vilas, standing in for Ontong, who hurt himself on the field. Vilas: "We were relieved (to tie it). Unlucky that the high full toss did not go for four. Luckily we came out on top in the Super Over. We had some cool heads there, guys who had lots of international experience. We had a little chat. We thought that spin was useful here, we struggled against it when we were batting. Engelbrecht came out on top."
Emrit: "Thirteen runs in the last over, I back myself to bowl. Unfortunately last ball, the keeper could not collect properly. It was either myself or Ravi (for the Super Over) but he said he wanted it. He is the senior player, had bowled a good 19th over and we backed him. We were actually looking to get 11 (in the Super Over), we had hit more boundaries and would have won the game. It is depressing, two close games, but T20 cricket, anything happens."
Amla: "The run rate was going up, Mendis was bowling well and a few of us got out. The guys were pretty calm. In T20, ten an over is not out of reach. When we needed 13 in the last, we knew we could get close, and we could sense it could be a Super Over. Not sure who eventually made the call (for Engelbrecht), brave call, not many times you get a spinner bowling the Super Over. He has been a revelation for us last two games."
He made an unbeaten 19 off 10 to force the Super Over, and then bowled Cobras to a win with his slow offbreaks. What a match for Sybrand Engelbrecht.
