India were challenged across different pockets when they batted, and have Adarsh Singh, the opener, to thank for their 251. Uday Saharan, the captain, also helped steady a wobbly innings. With the ball, India were totally dominant with Saumy Pandey, the left-arm spinner, running through the Bangladesh line-up with four wickets. They were never really in the game after the first 10 overs when Naman Tiwari proved a tad wayward. Once spinners came in, India were in total control.

Adarsh Singh is the Player of the Match for his 76: Feels great. Expected some movement early on, idea was to play every ball on its merit. When we lost two wickets early, the chat with Uday was to not try something big. Boundaries are big here so we just wanted to rotate strike, convert 1s into 2s. We've played with these guys in the Quadrangular Series in India. There was no specific plan against any bowler. My favourite shot is the cover drive, was nice to play a few.

Pandey to Maruf Mridha, OUT, that's the end of that! Pandey fires this in around a length, the ball skids through and keeps a tad low to beat Mridha's inside edge to crash into the stumps. Completely misjudged the line and length. Pandey has four and defending champs India begin with a comprehensive win.
