A terrific low scorer comes to an end. Time to catch our breath! Sri Lanka showed a lot of character and resolve to bounce back after being reduced to 32 for 5. Vithanage, Akshu Fernando and Chathura Peiris led the recovery but 205 wasn't enough. The seamers made Australia work hard for their runs but the spinners gave away too many singles in the middle overs. I think Peiris made the mistake by not bowling his seamers enough because there was some swing on offer.
For Australia, Marsh and Triffitt showed a lot of maturity and both paced their innings well. They didn't offer too many chances. Still, Australia will have to sort out some glitches before the final against Pakistan. Here's the presentation.
Peiris: "We gave a good fight. We have to work hard in the playoffs."
Marsh: "Credit to Triffitt for the way he played with me. We had decided to play the same way, no matter how many wickets fell." Marsh was also the Man of the Match.
That's it from here. Do join us for the final on Saturday between Australia and Pakistan. It starts at 10.30 am local time. Thanks for your company. On behalf of Binoy George, this is Kanishkaa signing off. Cheers guys!
They;re better off trying to hit out
