7.53pm Jubilant scenes among the India camp. They have made their second World Cup final, and will play that grand finale against England at one of the grandest stages of them all, Lord's. The tournament began with an India v England game, it will end the same way. India have beaten England, New Zealand and Australia in this tournament. They have earned this chance of a World Cup title. A terrific game of cricket, Blackwell and Villani were sensational after Australia had stumbled, but India were far too strong. Jhulan Goswami, the rest of the bowlers and, of course, Harmanpreet Kaur. Just wow.
Mithali Raj: "Harman's innings was exceptional. bowlers have done really well. This unit looks compact now. Winning a semi-finals against Australia is a huge achievement. We have players now who are of international standard. They are standing up every game. The top order is scoring when it's actually needed."
Meg Lanning: "We couldn't stop her. Congratulations to India. We didn't get the start we wanted, lost too many wickets through the middle. We haven't really nailed a full game. We've had glimpses with the ball."
Harmanpreet Kaur: I'm feeling proud. My innings was only worth it because they were restricted. When we were started from Bombay, we wanted to reach the semi-final, then reach the final."
Pradeep : "What an effort from Blackwell.. If only Lanning could contribute something like her routine, Aus would have been celebrating this. Nevertheless what a game of cricket this has been. "
AJ Blackwell b Sharma 90 (70m 56b 10x4 3x6) SR: 160.71
37 off 12 balls. Well played, Blackwell. Who'd have thought?
Deepak: "Why is Pandey not being bowled? Tactical error or did I miss something?" Was off the field for far too long.
Hmm, interesting.
Jhulan Goswami picks the best performance she's seen in the 2010s
She has taken women's cricket into the future and there is no looking back now
Australia's vanquished tournament favourites return home to the uncertainty of unemployment and the questions of a nation that expected them to be lifting the World Cup
India captain Mithali Raj pointed to Harmanpreet Kaur and Smriti Mandhana's inputs on Australia players, courtesy their WBBL stints, as being key to plotting Australia's downfall in the semi-final in Derby
The human body was not meant to be this awesome. But Harmanpreet Kaur used all the anger and the awesomeness to dispatch the Australian bowlers all over the field as if it was her own property
