2.03pm And that is that. India take a big step towards qualifying for the semis, and maintain their unbeaten record in this World Cup. Bangladesh are hanging on by a fingernail. We hope you enjoyed our coverage, and make sure you're back for Afghanistan-Australia in a few hours' time. Until then, it's goodbye from me, Shashank, Raghav and Ranjith.

Rohit Sharma: "We know what is expected out of us, and what we need to do, and how we need to play as well. We adapted to the conditions, there is a bit of a [wind] factor that you need to take into account, and we were smart with the bat, and used the conditions well with the ball too. All eight batters need to play their role, whatever it is. Our top score was 50, and we still got 196. In T20 you don't need fifties and hundreds, what matters is the pressure you put on the bowlers. That's how we want to play, that's how we want to encourage ourselves to play going forward as well. Hardik batting well, the way he did today, puts us in a very good state, because we wanted to finish off well after the top five set up the platform. We all know what he can do, and today was the perfect example of that. He's a very important player for us, with bat and ball."

Najmul Hossain Shanto: "I think we were thinking about 160-170, that would have been good for us, but the way they batted, credit goes to them. The players are used to this kind of weather [and wind], so I don't think that was an issue. I think we had a lot of batting options today, but we didn't show the intent we needed. I try to contribute in every match, but I should have tried to finish this. Tanzim Sakib, in this tournament, has done a great job, and I should mention Rishad. We have been looking for a legspinner for a while, and it's good to have him."

Hardik Pandya is the Player of the Match. The great Andy Roberts gives him his award. "I think we've played really good cricket, we've stuck together and really executed our plans," he [Hardik, not Roberts] says. "At certain situations everyone has stepped up. I did realise batters wanted to use the breeze. Just making sure I didn't give them free hits where the wind was blowing, it was about being one step ahead of the batter. For me, I've always been very fortunate to play for the country. It was a freak injury which happened [in the 2023 World Cup]. I tried to come back, but god had some other plans. The other day, I was speaking to Rahul sir, and he said luck comes to people who work hard. That has stuck with me, and I just want to keep my head down and keep working hard."

1.46pm India aren't through to the semis just yet, and Bangladesh aren't out just yet, but both those eventualities are looking very, very likely now, after this clinical display from India. Batted with a lot of intent to get to 196, with contributions all the way down the order led by Hardik Pandya's 50*. Then the bowlers never gave Bangladesh a sniff. Bumrah did the thing he does so often that we take it for granted and forget how extraordinary it is to go for just 13 in four overs, and Kuldeep looked magical at times while picking up 3 for 19 in his four overs. Bangladesh didn't have the power or inventiveness you need to chase 197 against an attack like that, in conditions with bounce and a bit of grip.

Abhishek: "I think more than Bangladesh, Afganistan have chances. They can beat both Australia and Bangladesh..."

Bharat: "The TV commentators are singing odes for Bumrah, but I think the best bowling performance today was by Kuldeep. Looked unplayable most times. "

Siddharth: "Hey Kartik.. Quick clarification on Bangladesh aren't out yet? How do Bangladesh still make it in?" -- If Australia lose to both Afghanistan and India, and if Bangladesh beat Afghanistan, and net run rates work out too.

Arshdeep Singh to Tanzim Hasan Sakib, 1 run, and that is that. Slower length ball outside off, flat-batted to long-off, and India win by 50 runs

Tanzim.

W
Arshdeep Singh to Mahmudullah, OUT, eight down. Arhseep bowls the slower bouncer again, and gets it up around throat high. Mahmudullah can't really keep the pull down, and he can't really power into it either, and Axar takes a good catch to his left at deep backward square leg

Mahmudullah c Patel b Arshdeep Singh 13 (30m 15b 1x4 0x6) SR: 86.66

Arshdeep Singh to Mahmudullah, no run, oooh, nearly bowls him around his legs! Steps a long way across his stumps and misses the flick off the full ball pitching outside leg. Doesn't miss leg stump by much at all. Mahmudullah wants a wide, but the umpire points out that it would have been perfectly okay if he'd not moved across
19.3
1
Arshdeep Singh to Mahedi Hasan, 1 run, slower length ball outside off, chopped to deep cover point
19.2
1
Arshdeep Singh to Mahmudullah, 1 run, fullish on middle and leg, whipped to deep square leg
19.1
0
Arshdeep Singh to Mahmudullah, no run, this time the slower short ball comes out just right, angling across Mahmudullah and losing a lot of pace off the pitch, so it bounces a second time before it reaches the keeper. Mahmudullah looks to pull, and the ball dips below his bat
19.1
1w
Arshdeep Singh to Mahmudullah, 1 wide, they could still win this if Arshdeep keeps bowling this ball. Slower ball goes wrong, ends up as a wide well down the leg side. Left alone

Right, then. Arshdeep to finish. How much can Bangladesh narrow their margin of defeat? Left-arm over.

END OF OVER:

Bumrah to Mahedi Hasan, FOUR, a rarity, a boundary off Bumrah, and he finishes with 2 for 13 off his four. Shortish in the corridor, and he lets it come on and dabs it fine, beating deep third to his left
18.5
0
Bumrah to Mahedi Hasan, no run, length ball angling into middle stump, steps across and can't place that clip past midwicket
18.4
0
Bumrah to Mahedi Hasan, no run, back of a length outside off, beats the outside edge as he looks to steer it down to third

Mahedi is in at No. 9. Bangladesh bat really deep today, but it's not helped them that much.

18.3
W
Bumrah to Rishad Hossain, OUT, and again, hard length and that angle into off stump. I think Rishad is looking to pull this, but he's hurried into his shot and completely cramped for room. All he can do is flap it straight to that man at extra-cover

Rishad Hossain c Sharma b Bumrah 24 (9m 10b 1x4 3x6) SR: 240.00

Bumrah to Rishad Hossain, no run, hard length, into the pitch, angling in towards off stump. Looks to make a bit of room and flat-bat that, but he's cramped for room, hits it on the bounce to extra-cover

Bumrah to Mahmudullah, 1 run, shortish on off stump, pulled on the bounce to deep midwicket

Bumrah to bowl his fourth.

Patel to Rishad Hossain, SIX, lovely use of the feet here, jumps out and gets to the pitch of this off-stumpish ball and swings freely through the line to launch it straight back over the bowler's head. Another clean, clean strike
17.5
0
Patel to Rishad Hossain, no run, back of a length outside off, not quite short enough to pull, inside-edged into the ground near the keeper's feet
17.4
1
Patel to Mahmudullah, 1 run, length ball outside off, no timing on this slog down to long-on, along the ground
17.3
1
Patel to Rishad Hossain, 1 run, slowish length ball outside off, swept along the ground theough square leg
17.2
6
Patel to Rishad Hossain, SIX, shot! Rishad is showing some ability here. Tossed up into his arc outside off, and he frees his arms and launches it clean over the long-off boundary
17.1
1
Patel to Mahmudullah, 1 run, fullish outside off, shapes to hit over the covers, I think, and he's early on his shot and drags it along the ground through midwicket. I think Axar has been warned for taking too long (more than 60 seconds) to start this overs

Axar comes on for his second over. Bangladesh's required rate is now up to 25. Left-arm around.

END OF OVER:

Arshdeep Singh to Rishad Hossain, SIX, bang. Thumped away by Rishad. Another slower ball angling across, but it's not angled far enough across to get outside Rishad's reach, and it's short enough for him to adjust to the lack of pace and pull fiercely over midwicket

Abhishek: "Bumrah is 9 for 58 off 18 overs in this tournament. Test bowlers dream of such figures"

16.5
1
Arshdeep Singh to Mahmudullah, 1 run, shortish outside off, opens his bat face for a chipped punch to the left of deep cover point

1
Arshdeep Singh to Rishad Hossain, 1 run, slower length ball angling into the seventh-stump channel. Throws his bat at it and gets a thick edge down to deep third
