MUGDHA FARHEEN : "Correction Danyal, India's allotted semi final does not have a reserve day, instead has 250 additional minutes to complete the game. " Sorry, yep you're correct.

Jos Buttler's beaming in his own understated way. "I thought if we could bring our intensity we'd be too good," he says. He says they wanted to give themselves a chance of topping this group. Pays rich tribute to Rashid and Livingstone. "We've got great options. We wanted to bring Chris Jordan back, adds a bit of depth with his batting capabilities as well. A World Cup hat-trick is a great effort."

Feels he's more confident in his own game, too. "I'm still one of the 11, I've got to do my job."

Aaron Jones says it's a hard game to get to grips with. "I guess you could say [we've run out of steam]. We've not had a good last two games. Something to look forward at for sure when we get back. But we've really enjoyed this tournament. I think our shot selection wasn't the best. We knew he was the dangerman but we still gave him some wickets."

Jones talks about his hopes for cricket in America. "This is our first World Cup. I don't think people would have thought we'd be playing here against the big boys. Hopefully this will open the eyes of the American public. We've got a lot of calls and messages of support during this World Cup."

So England have done the bare minimum they needed to do - and no more. They've been very efficient with the timing and size of their victories, and it's resulted in them becoming the first semi-finalists of this tournament.

Vinay: "I have a query.. what would be the result if India vs England semi finals wash out.."

Adil Rashid is the player of the match "All the bowlers bowled extremely well and to restrict them to 115 was very pleasing. Always nice to keep it tight and get an early wicket which brings the new batter in," says Rashid. "With the wind you have to assess which end you're going to bowl. The googly's been coming out nicely too."

He has nice words about Chris Jordan. "CJ's a matchwinner. He's been doing it for a number of years, especially at the back end. Jos is a world-class player and has been formany a year, and hopefully we can carry it on now in the semi-finals."

1pm Job done for England. They were the last team to secure a Super Eight berth after a fraught group stage, but they have booked a place that is still very much up for grabs for several other heavyweights. One of West Indies or South Africa will go out tonight, and Australia might need snookers too, after their cruise through the early rounds. As for USA their gig is up, but that victory over Pakistan will live long in the memory. They can be mighty proud of their efforts in this co-hosted tournament.

Over to Danyal to mop up the post-match ...

4
van Schalkwyk to Buttler, FOUR, width, back of a length, cuffed through deep third! England are into the semi-finals with a formidable display!
9.3
1
van Schalkwyk to Salt, 1 run, loses his shape a touch on a drag into the leg side, but it matters not

Chris: "Got to commend Salt for dropping anchor, rotating the strike (whatever phrase you want) to allow Butler who clearly has his eye in to go full on." Yes, it's something he's spoken about. If one of them is on one ...

9.2
1
van Schalkwyk to Buttler, 1 run, length ball, eased on the front foot, to deep cover

1
van Schalkwyk to Salt, 1 run, back of a length, dragged to deep midwicket, gathered on the bounce ... Buttler has the honours...

one hit away...

6
Harmeet Singh to Buttler, SIX, monstrous smash over the leg side! Just violence, a roundhouse slug over the leg side. Full length, on the toes, but frankly it no longer mattered where that pitched

Harmeet Singh to Buttler, 1 wide, w-a-a-a-a-y wide of off stump! Reload...

Harmeet Singh to Buttler, SIX, four in a row! Shades of Gibbs versus van Bunge now. Just muscled cruelly over the leg side!
8.4
6
Harmeet Singh to Buttler, SIX, brutality on the full length! Explodes his wrists up into the length ball and blammed over the sightscreen!
8.3

Harmeet Singh to Buttler, SIX, another six, hoisted off the legs! Buttler's in a rush now... full length, on the toes, lifted over square leg!

Harmeet Singh to Salt, 1 run, flicked off the pads to the on-side

So, it's a matter of when not if ... but will that when put England in sight of top spot in Group 2? The final NRR figure rests on how Windies fare tonight of course... but something around 11 overs would be interesting
