So, Afghanistan head for home, South Africa get ready to take on New Zealand in their first match of the Super Eights tomorrow. That's all from us tonight, join us again then for more fun and frolics.

"We played really well and we have learned a lot of things from South Africa," says Afghanistan's captain, Nawroz Mangal. "We were in a really tough group but we want to play these teams again and again."

"We can still be more convincing that we were today, but it was a good work-out for us," says Graeme Smith, who enjoyed the pace and bounce in the wicket. "I think if we can carry on a good upward curve, and click, we can become a real force in this tournament."

Unsurprisingly, the man of the match is Morne Morkel, for his mugging of the Afghan top-order. "With a new hard ball, it went through quite nicely," he says. "You still need to hit the right areas, but tomorrow's a new thing."

So, Afghanistan's journey comes to an end, but what an adventure it's been. From the World Cricket League Division Five to the World Twenty20 in a matter of months, and while they were outclassed in the final analysis today, they were far from overawed.

Brydon Coverdale has the story covered in his bulletin, while Gnasher McGlashan is freshly arrived in Barbados from Guyana to bring us all the reaction from the ground. Hold tight for the presentations ...

Langeveldt to Hamid Hassan, OUT, and that, alas, is the end of that. Another short ball, another mow, and another top-edge for Kallis to snaffle as he back-pedalled to collect the catch at slip
