Scorer: Venkat Raghav | Commentator: Hemant Brar

That's all from our side for this game. Join Peter Della Penna in a couple of hours or so for the second game of the day. Hopefully, things would be much better by then.

Bibek: "Seems first washed out of this season. Bit confused as Jamaica fan, either washed out will benefit Jamaica or will hurt their chances for semis." -- A win would have definitely helped but the washout hasn't done much harm, I would say.

1.15pm Shake of the hands. The match has been called off. That means a point each to the Tallawahs and the Patriots. With just three points from nine games, the Patriots are out of the 2020 CPL.

Mohd Irshad: "Looked at the bottom of the scoreboard, So nothing wrong happened to SA then, and why missed the fact that SA were too slow to bowl their 50 overs? I was in impression of rain. Suddenly seems like it was a fair call, well they still got 5 less to score"

1.00pm Looks like we are just waiting for the inevitable now. Another 30 minutes or so we have.

Karan : "The issue with the Patriots management in this edition of the CPL was that looking at Lynn's and Dunk's form, they could have moved Dunk up the order and let Lynn bat at 3 or even 4 so he can then assess the situation and play accordingly instead of going hell for leather from ball one. One good innings and they could have moved him back up the order to partner Lewis. There's no point sitting in the dugout with a poker face if you aren't courageous to take few tough calls. But again, with ipl approaching, Lynn couldn't have chosen a better day to show glimpses of what he's capable of."

Giggity: "Back to SA's semifinal exit - If DLS existed back then, what would be the equation? Is it safe to presume that SA would have won the game?" -- Raghav tells me the DLS target would have been 234 (but then South Africa bowled only 45 overs instead of 50, robbing England the chance to accelerate). For more info and the DL target, you can see the match notes at the bottom of the page here.

12.30pm Dhruv: "@Hemant, till what time a 5 over match is possible? Obviously we might have already lost 10 overs if not more than that." -- Think we are still an hour away from the game being called off.

Giggity: "I was expecting Ben Dunk to dive onto the ground at the end and slide out of the boundary. Am I expecting too much from you Ben? Am I? Disappointing once again, Ben, Disappointing once again!"

Rajendra Bhosal: "If this is washed out, I guess then it will be end of season for STKNP and BT teams" -- The Barbados Tridents can still get to eight (or seven if their game is also washed out) points and can make it to the top four.

Here's that Ben Dunk sprint through the "river" I told you about earlier:

Sarah: "Raining in the east now. Hoping the rain from the south blows all the way over here so the cricket can continue. Don't mind if it rains in the east at all "

11.50am If the match is washed out, that would mean the end of journey for the St Kitts and Nevis Patriots this season.

Amit Raut: "Nature is playing with our feelings. Oh God! Stop the rain and let us enjoy through sixes and fours."

11.30am "It's like a river," says Ian Bishop. And it's not looking very promising, still raining heavily. In the meantime, Ben Dunk had a sprint from one end to the other and back through the puddles of water, making splashes all along the way.

sambhav koirala: "Rain is really ruining our fun after cricket came back after so long"

Andre: "Narayan Devkota I have two words for you mate; ANDRE RUSSELL"

Narayan Devkota: "If Jamaica are given to chase 67 from 5 if DLS is applied then I think Patriots are favourite to win !"

Andre: "Tallawah's might be the happier of the two sides if the target is 67 from 5 overs!"

Himesh: "One game that shouldn't have been affected by rain was the 1992 World Cup semi final between South Africa and England - RSA would have probably won the World Cup if it didn't go from 22 required from 13 balls to 22 required from 1 ball! That was absolutely devastating! "

Samraat Maharja: "Since we are talking about Rain. It has done more damage to South Africa than anyone else."

Tsoi: "Twice rain was a mood ruiner in Champions Trophy final 2002, the worst of rain affected matches"

Narayan Devkota: "Peter Della Penna is the major missing these days. Where is he ? He has separate fan base at Associate Nations including Nepal !" -- Peter will be there for the second game.

Ramesh: "1992 World Cup semi-final match, South Africa went home because of rain. That's very disaster....." But were South Africa really unlucky? Sidharth Monga thinks otherwise.

Isaac Marshall: "How about England vs Pakistan last week for the retrospective series win? Seeing how the other two games panned out, Pakistan would have been huge favourites to chase down what was looking like a paltry score in the making."

Bimal Bhandari: "Seemed like Lynn was in the mood today. Rain spoiled the party!!"

Gaurav: "This blast from the past - was really looking forward to a Veeru special."

John: "South Africa & RCB has always been unlucky with rains. Just wish it hadn't rained during the 2015 WC SF of South Africa-New Zealand. SA finished with 281/5 in 43 overs with AB still at the crease. I believe SA could have scored 350+ and it would have been a totally different chase for NZ."

Jeff B: "This one, so we could see both Chris Lynn's heroics and keep the Patriots in the tournament"

Narayan Devkota: "Was watching Sandeep Lamichhane's game in TV with family but rain ruined this time ! Parents despite having no any knowledge they watch game with us just to see and hear his name from commentator ! Cricket is a religion here at Nepal ! "

Mohd Irshad: "I can tell you which game should have been, the 2003 World Cup final. As a kid, I literally cried that day..."

Sridhar: "I wish 2019 WC semi final game between India and NZ wasn't affected by the rain!!"

11.00am It's still raining. Meanwhile, do tell us in the feedback which game you wish hadn't been affected by the rain.

Dylan Sharma: "Not raining in all portions of southern Trinidad, very scattered, but the forecast is grim for the remainder of this match. This evening looks much better."

Sticking to Anderson, his inswinger to Kraigg Brathwaite is at No. 14 in our balls of the 21st century.

Talking about the rain, here is Andrew Fidel Fernando explaining on how it rains on everyone's parade but Jimmy Anderson's.

While it's raining, head over here: Shimron Hetmyer tells my colleague Matt Roller that T20 isn't his favourite format.

Rutvik Marathe: "Why God!! Why????... Rains arrive as Chris Lynn looked in touch...missed his big hitting so much"

Raghav tells me that if it's a five-over bash, that target for the Tallawahs will be 67.

Rohan Bhalerao: "I hope at least today they don't keep Russell and Brathwaite till after it becomes unchaseable! "

10.24am Okay, it's here. The rain has taken over. Off goes the players and out come the covers. Meanwhile, Carlos Brathwaite has fetched the ball from the far end and is walking towards the pavilion, which is at the other end, with the ball in his hand. Doesn't seem he is particularity keen about keeping it dry.
