Gives himself too much room in the end and cannot reach the ball, not helped by Nortje's express pace. The ball breezes under his bat and knocks back off stump. Perfect start for the Patriots! 7/1

9.2 Zaman goes for the big hit, and perishes! Slows it up on a length just outside off and Zaman cannot resist the temptation. Clears his front leg and slogs at it but does so without getting to the pitch of the ball. Clinks it off the toe-end and Lewis, hurtling in from the deep mid wicket fence, makes no mistake! 67/2

10.5 holes out to long on! Darted in full on middle and leg. James skips down the track, looking to go downtown. Cannot get under it, though, and the angle rids him of swinging room too. Chips it to John, who completes the catch with minimal fuss. The Patriots keep chipping away! 80/3

13.6 superb work by Odean Smith! Off-pace and into the track on middle and leg. Billings has a swipe at it but is early into the stroke. Skews up high off the leading edge and swirls towards deep backward square leg. Smith tracks it all the way and takes the catch but then realises he will also step onto the cushion. Flicks it up into the air and holds his nerve to complete the catch one-handed when he returns to the field of play. Nonchalantly done, and Smith is all smiles, as are the Patriots! 102/4

7.6 Lewis bites the dust! Back of a length delivery outside off, asking Lewis to fetch it. Lewis gives in to the temptation but cuts across it too much. Slices it and Green, running around to his right from long off, pouches it. Vital breakthrough at this stage for the Falcons! 71/2

4.4 Imad gets the better of Fletcher, and he lets him know too! Pulls his length back and darts it in much quicker after seeing Fletcher advance. The Patriots skipper cannot quite adjust in time and has a hopeful waft at it. Makes no contact and Billings does the rest behind the stumps. A bit of a send-off from Imad too, and this could be a big moment in the game! 37/1

15.5 look at Shamar Springer fly! Slot ball outside off and Mayers thinks he can carve this inside-out. Gets a pretty decent chunk of it but the only problem is he hits it in the general direction of Springer at sweeper cover. He makes up ground to his right and then sprawls across the turf, plucking it out of thin air. Amir is pumped, and the Falcons are still in this! 133/6

9.5 Springer has another! A bit of a half-tracker on leg stump, and Stubbs will be kicking himself at having gotten out to this. Made room, got good contact but hit it too flat and too close to Primus at deep mid wicket. Simple enough catch, and the Patriots lose their third! 77/3

13.4 Springer has three, and the Falcons break a dangerous-looking partnership! Banged into the track just outside off. Seems like a slower one and the ball grips in the surface, cutting back into Smith. He gets cramped for room on the upper-cut and ends up spooning it straight to Imad at short third. An enterprising cameo by Smith, though, and it has taken the Patriots closer to the finish line! 111/4

13.5 big appeal by Springer, and given! Short, wide and there to be hit. Rossouw probably cannot believe what has been dished out and tries to thrash it through the off side. Gets the faintest of tickles, though, and he has to depart. Billings, it must be said, was not even interested in the appeal. Springer was, and the umpire swiftly raised his finger. Huge moment in the game! 111/5

19.1 into the Antiguan night sky, but no distance on it. Drakes perishes, and the Falcons take flight! Length ball on middle and off, and Drakes thinks he can finish it off with one blow. Gets too much under it, though, and the ball goes straight up. James settles under it at long on, and does the rest. Is that the game? 157/8

18.3 an almighty mix-up, and John has been run out by a mile! Shortish on middle and leg. Drakes swings like a rusty gate again and jams it off the inside edge into his body. The ball rolls away into the off side and that prompts John to scurry down the track for a single Drakes has no interest in taking. Gets sent back and watches as Zaman collects the throw from Amir and takes off the bails! 154/7

19.3 another wicket for Primus, and the Patriots are crumbling under pressure! Hard length on middle and off. Zips off the surface, gets big on Nedd and cramps him for room too. He has a swipe at it but all he manages is a tame top edge to short third. The Falcons just one wicket away from a win on opening night! 159/9
