That's that from the first of the two double-headers. But there is plenty of cricket still going on. India are taking on Bangladesh in Gwalior in the first men's T20I while Scotland are getting ready to take on West Indies at the T20 World Cup. If you missed any of the action from the India-Pakistan game, Sudarshanan's report is up. Thanks for tuning in today. Ciao!
Smriti Mandhana comes for the presentation with Harmanpreet injured: [On the injury to Harmanpreet] Too soon to say anything. Medical team is looking at it. We have been very disciplined, followed the plans. In the field we were very good. Better start with the bat would have been good, but we will take that win. [NRR] We did think about it. Me and Shafali could not time the ball . We didn't want to end up losing a lot of wickets. We were a little calculative. The NRR is in our head. [Sri Lanka] They have been playing good cricket but this game will give us the momentum.
Fatima Sana: We were not up to the mark in the batting. We were 10-15 runs short. Hopefully next match I will [go up the order]. [Captaincy] I am enjoying my captaincy. I have enjoyed my time.
Arundhati Reddy is the player of the match: I have been bowling with the new ball lately. We had a good powerplay, Renuka and myself. We got a good start with the ball. I have worked a lot on my T20 bowling in all stages and it is helping me. [Variations] Day's game it is hot, but we are used to this. I was trying to attack the stumps and that was my focus.
5.20pm India make it home with seven balls to spare. Could they have gotten there sooner? Maybe. But they will be glad to have the first points on the board. Pakistan were excellent with the ball in their defence of 106. They kept their lines tight and did not give the India batters much to work with. India lost Mandhana early and Shafali and Jemimah Rodrigues were cautious in their approach with the boundaries hard to get on the slow Dubai outfield. The duo fell in quick succession levaing the match on an even keel. Captain Harmanpreet Kaur, who came in at No. 4 today gave India the much-needed impetus. She struck 29 off 24 before retiring hurt minutes before the end of the game. Fatima Sana picked two wickets but India got over the line in 18.5 overs.
