Chapman marks debut with match-winning ton

Hong Kong 298 for 4 (Chapman 124*) beat UAE 209 (Anwar 76, Rath 3-22) by 89 runs
Scorecard and ball-by-ball details

Mark Chapman scored Hong Kong's first one-day international hundred and also became only the tenth batsman to make a century on debut, his unbeaten 124 of 116 balls crushing UAE by 89 runs in Dubai.

Hong Kong's top three batsmen made promising starts after they won the toss, but none of them kicked on until Chapman arrived at No. 4 and hit two sixes and 11 fours during his innings. He came in at 155 for 2 in 33 overs and stayed the course, scoring 124 out of the remaining 143 runs. Hong Kong finished on 298 for 4, with Zaheer Maqsood and Ahmed Raza taking two wickets apiece for UAE.

UAE's chase never got going. No. 3 Shaiman Anwar top scored with 76 but the next best contribution was 24 from Abdul Shakoor at No.7. UAE slipped from 101 for 2 to 125 for 5, and then again from 177 for 6 to 209 all out in 42.3 overs. Haseeb Amjad and Anshuman Rath took three wickets each for Hong Kong.
