England Women 125 for 8 (Wyatt 37, Sciver 23, Nielsen 2-24) beat New Zealand Women 106 (Bates 46, Gunn 5-18, Sciver 4-21) by 19 runs
Scorecard
A 19th-over hat-trick from medium-pacer Natalie Sciver, and an incisive spell of 5 for 18 from the seamer Jenny Gunn helped England Women to a 19-run win over New Zealand Women in Barbados. The result knocked New Zealand out of the tri-series after they lost three of their four matches.
Sciver removed Maddie Green in the fourth ball of the 19th over and in her next two deliveries, bowled Erin Bermingham and trapped Frances Mackay lbw- both for ducks, as England successfully defended 125.
It wasn't completely smooth sailing for England though, as a 51-ball 46 from the opener Suzie Bates had powered New Zealand to a stable, but slow 74 for 1 after 13.3 overs. Bates and Sophie Devine, who made 25, added 44 for the second wicket, but Devine's dismissal - caught by Sciver off her own bowling - triggered a collapse that New Zealand couldn't recover from.
New Zealand's last eight batters contributed just 11 runs between them, and they lost the final six wickets for only nine runs. Sciver, who finished with 4 for 21, was given ample support at the other end by Gunn, as the pair picked up wickets at quick intervals to bowl New Zealand out for 106 in 20 overs.
England's innings was earlier propelled by a run-a-ball 37 from the opener Danielle Wyatt, and her 29-run fifth-wicket partnership with Sciver, who blasted 23 off 21. Morna Nielsen struck for New Zealand with two blows in the 18th over, but Holly Colvin, batting at No.11, added a late surge by smashing a 9-ball 16 to take England to 125.
