Imran Tahir: "Always nice to finish like this when you have a tough campaign but glad to finish on a high note. Well, I need to be in the playing 11 to show these celebrations, unfortunately, I didn't get many opportunities and Shamsi bowled really well. Rawalpindi's pitch was very tough to bowl. I want to thank all the people who came here and supported us, it has been my dream to play in front of crowds in Pakistan. I am gonna be playing for Guyana and I am looking forward to it. I want to do something very special for the people of Guyana"
Lahore Qalandars, already through to the playoffs, rested Shaheen Afridi tonight and weren't at their belligerent best against their arch-rivals Karachi Kings. Imad Wasim decided to bat first and they got a decent total of 196 as Muhammad Akhlaq, Tayyab Tahir and Imad Wasim made handy contributions with the bat.
Rashid Khan copped up a nasty blow on the helmet off a bouncer from James Fuller and left the field. It remains to be seen what is the extent of his injury and whether he will play in the all-important Qualifier.
David Wiese said the conditions in Lahore offer a better balance between bat and bowl after a series of run-fests in Rawalpindi where bowlers struggled big time. He said the performance was down by 10-15 per cent and it felt different to not have Shaheen leading them into action.
The league stage completes with this 30th game and the playoffs will kick off on Wednesday when Lahore will lock horns with Multan. Karachi will head out of the tournament with a morale-boosting win. With that, I'll say goodnight. Thank you so much for your company!
Hfq: "KK should request PCB for at least 5 matches against lahore qalandars next season"
Shaheer: "I think KK really missed Mir Hamza. They could have won those games if they had him."
Zeshan: "Both batsmen need just 1 run to equal their best scores :)"
Hfq: "KK really missed the match finishers.....both in batting n bowling "
