Join us tomorrow for the last group stage match between Multan Sultans and Quetta Gladiators. Feels a bit melancholy that we're already heading towards the end of yet another brilliant PSL season. For the moment, this is Rvel Zahid signing off on behalf of my colleagues at ESPNcricinfo.
Babar Azam, Player of the Match: We didn't expect that much turn from the pitch and it to be so soft. We tried to eye 150-160 and knew that target would have been difficult because it's not easy to play spinners. Usually pitches are good in Karachi but the turn was extra. You always have individual goals for every tournament and every tournament is an opportunity to improve and I wanted to improve (play different shots). Team is first for me and individual goals are secondary. Bowlers bowled according to what pitch demanded, especially I would like to applaud Saim (Ayub) even though he is not a genuine spinner but he made an impact and this is the beauty of PSL when youngsters perform well. We'll try not to repeat mistakes in playoffs. I planned to bowl today, got warmed up but didn't get a chance.
Both teams were engaged in a fierce tussle in search of a victory. PSL 9 served another exhilarating contest as Karachi Kings looked to finish the tournament on a high and Peshawar Zalmi were resolute on finishing in the top two. It's the lowest total ever defended in Karachi so credit to Zalmi for holding their nerve and stepping up in big moments. Brilliant work from both teams; you could see how much the game meant to all players. But in the end, Zalmi played a few of the percentages better and edged out the home side. Earlier, Karachi were superb with the ball and the likes of Arafat Minhas and Shoaib Malik were outstanding -- they created enormous pressure with the ball. It's good to see some exciting new talent in the shape of Arafat Minhas, Mehran Mumtaz and Irfan Khan Niazi. All these youngsters will give a good headache to the national selectors ahead of the T20 World Cup
Ovais Bajwa: "I lost for words if people are saying Baber's name for captain if that is the case than Pakistan must find someone who can write the captaincy for him because he unable to read the game and could only do what he was told to do Anyone but baber let him just bat. Please"
Ali Hasni: "Biryani lost from Chapli Kabab"

Taha: "A very interesting conversation on captaincy. I dont want to just sit on the fence but I do believe nobody is really good enough or fit enough to be captain mentally. Performance wise yes babar and rizwan are the most consistent but does that translate to bigger competitions I dont think so. Fact is Misbah was the only last proper captain we had and he was ridiculed all the time as well. The players that we have at present are just not good enough to back any captain."
Think there was some distraction and Pollard backs away, Luke Wood is not amused at all, he has to go back to his bowling mark and try again

Attiya: "Rather than finding hero captain, please find suitable bowlers and a capable power hitters in middle order. An average cqptain can work around this in t20!"
Usama: "Interesting discussion taking place. History tells us that one captain for all format is best way for PCT. Shaheen and Rizwan both are really good T20 captains and also impact performers. But in test we all have seen the struggles of Rizwan and Shaheen is injury prone, he knows this too and wasn't leading the pack from the front in Australia. That only leaves Babar. He has learned not only the ropes of captaincy but during his time he built a team too by supporting and nurturing raw talent."
Uzair Hashmi: "Rizwan and Babar are two sides of the same coin! How can people forget the dubious, questionable selections during the World Cup, the last year performances under Babar's captaincy! BIG fan of Babar the player, Babar the captain, not at all!"
