Smith, Edwards take Barbados into final

Barbados 182 for 3 (Smith 61, Brathwaite 55*) beat Guyana 181 (Deonarine 58, Edwards 4-16) by seven wickets
Scorecard and ball-by-ball details

Barbados set up a date with Trinidad & Tobago in the final of the Nagico Super50 after a comfortable seven-wicket win against Guyana at Port-of-Spain. Guyana, opting to bat, were on the back foot early after an early burst from Fidel Edwards left them reeling at 26 for 4 in the tenth over.

Edwards accounted for three of those wickets: He struck in his second over to dismiss Trevon Griffith, then trapped Ramnaresh Sarwan in his third and had Assad Fudadin's edging to first slip in his fourth. Jason Holder, who had been keeping the other end tight, added to Guyana's woes by picking up the wicket of Leon Johnson, the batsman shouldering arms to a straight delivery to be adjudged lbw.

Narsingh Deonarine, who was left out of the West Indies squad for the upcoming limited-overs matches against Ireland, and Christopher Barnwell stemmed the rot with a 65-run stand for the sixth wicket, but Edwards' spell had robbed them of the momentum. Guyana's lower order added useful runs, but could only lift the team to 181.

Dwayne Smith and Kraigg Brathwaite responded in completely different fashion. The two took three overs to settle in their innings, then Smith launched an attack, hitting Barnwell for a six and a four in the fourth over. He then took Veerasammy Permaul for 16 runs in the sixth over. He reached his half-century, in 33 balls, with another six of Permaul. By the time Smith was dismissed in the 12th over, Barbados had already added 81.

Barbados lost two more wickets, but Braithwaite found an able ally in Kenroy Williams. The two added an unbeaten 72 patiently to help Barbados over the line in 46 overs.
