Guyana 169 for 8 (Reifer 84*, Searles 2-31, Hinds 2-33) beat Barbados 168 for 4 (Brathwaite 73) by 2 wickets
Scorecard
Raymon Reifer's unbeaten 84 rescued Guyana and led them to a slim two-wicket win with only four deliveries to spare against Barbados at the Queen's Park Oval. Rain reduced the match to 36 overs per side in which Guyana chased down 169 despite being 77 for 7 at one point. Guyana are on top of the table with two wins from as many matches.
Guyana lost their openers cheaply within the first two overs and no other batsman, barring Reifer, got a strong start as wickets continued to tumble. They were reeling at 77 for 7 in the 19th over after losing four wickets for four runs within 14 deliveries. However, Reifer stood tall amidst all this and along with No. 9 Veerasammy Permaul took them past 100. Fast bowler Javon Searles (2 for 31) then removed Permaul before Reifer combined with Devendra Bishoo (26 off 22) to take them home. While Bishoo struck four fours, Reifer hit five fours and three sixes.
Earlier, Barbados were led by opener Kraigg Brathwaite's 73 after they chose to bat. The rest of the top four batsmen contributed only 39 runs together. No. 5 Ryan Hinds gave Brathwaite company with a 36-ball 37 and led them to 168 for 4, which eventually wasn't enough.
