Mayank Agarwal - Well, it's a good stat to have (Karnataka have qualified for finals for the fifth time). Just shows that the guys are really putting in the performances under pressure, really taking up the ownership, putting those performances at crucial times and winning those moments. It was just two, three things, just about preparing an we we spoke about uh winning crucial moments in SMAT. We couldn't do that in that tournament, but we were able to do that this tournament and the boys are really- really working on that aspect, not just basically with mentally, looking to those moments and then when we're winning that we have momentum on the side and finishing games like we did today.
I thought we bowled really well at the start of the game, if you asked us bowling first, if we need chase 240, we would be very happy with that. There are maybe a couple of areas to a improve that's something that we're gonna do we look to do as a unit, look to improve every game.
I think he's (Padikkal) batted beautifully throughout the tournament and it's very nice to see the youngsters take the responsibility and play the crucial role and win games for us
Devdutt Padikkal is the player of the match for his fab innings. Come back to play of an another with pleasure and I entered it wasn't easy. We were focusing on looking to get around the front foot because it was keeping quite low. I think both me Smaran were able to get those singles and keep digging. That chat was, I was just telling everyone who was coming into bat that you have that momentum going towards the ball and try to move your body towards the ball because the more you hang back, the more difficult it gets and it gets like this. And I felt Samran batted beautiful through the chase. As far as Karnataka is winning I'm happy.
Karnataka win by 5 wickets. Clinical performance from Karnataka. Starting with the bowlers, they chipped in with timely scalps and never let Haryana batters settle. Apart from Himanshu Rana and Ankit Kumar none of the batters hung in there. Abhilash Shetty bowled beautifully and grabbed four and was well accompanied by Prasidh Krishna and Shreyas Gopal. Chasing a modest total Karnataka lost their in-form skipper for a naught. Devdutt Padikkal, who has had a dream run in this format stitched a 138 run partnership for the 3rd wicket with Ravichandaran Smaran . By the time DDP was dismissed for 86 in the 40th over, the game was well gone from Haryana's grasp. Bowlers tried their best but Karnataka batters were too good. With this win Karnataka have qualified for finals for the fifth time.
