Australia v Pakistan - #BendTheRules moments

Shane Watson lines up to hit the ball AFP

The innings which Shane Watson played against Pakistan helped put Australia through to the Semi-finals of World Cup 2015, as they thrashed Pakistan by six wickets in Adelaide on Friday.

Watson began his knock tentatively and was dropped by Rahat Ali in the 17th over, when he was just four. But he made the most of the reprieve and successfully negotiated a barrage of bouncers from Pakistan's fast bowlers.

He combined forces with Steven Smith and the duo added 89 runs for the fourth wicket. The partnership provided stability to Australia after they had lost their top-three batsmen in the first 11 overs for just 59 runs.

Watson remained unbeaten and smashed seven fours and one six in his match-winning knock, which qualifies for the #BendTheRules Moments of the day.
