England v Afghanistan - #BendTheRules Moments

The innings which Ian Bell played against Afghanistan, on Friday, helped England beat their lesser-accomplished opponent by nine-wickets to avoid their worst record in a World Cup.

The last match of England's rather-gloomy World Cup campaign was curtailed due to Duckworth Lewis, as rain stopped play during Afghanistan's brief 36.2-over stay at the crease.

Rain intervened for a third time, and eventually curtailed Afghanistan's innings at 111 for 7. England's batsmen faced a revised target of 101 in 25 overs.

Bell and Alex Hales added 83 runs for the first wicket and refused to hand Afghanistan's bowlers the initiative. Hales was finally dismissed for 37, but Bell refused to budge and took his side home in just the 19th over. He struck six fours in his knock of 52, which came off 56 balls. His match-winning knock qualifies for #BendTheRules Moments of the day.
