First time I met a hero
I was in class seven when I met [former Bangladesh captain Khaled Mahmud] Sujon bhai. He came to play for Siraj Memorial Club in Mymensingh, where I found him during one of the matches and took his autograph. I didn't really talk to him.
First international match
It was against Sri Lanka at the R Premadasa Stadium in 2007. I just couldn't feel anything that day, I was very nervous. You can say I was numb. We bowled first, and it was a delayed start, so the nervousness didn't go away. I took two wickets for 28, one of which was a great catch that Tamim Iqbal took near the midwicket boundary. Later I scored 36 off 54 balls, coming in at No. 7. I am thankful to my brother Emdadullah, who taught me a lot of things. I am indebted to him for coming so far.
First memorable sledge
I usually don't sledge but I do remember the time I got into a bit of a verbal with Brendan Taylor in Dhaka. I told him to be quiet, because I think he didn't score many in that game and was getting a bit chirpy when I came out to bat. I have seen it on Youtube, but I don't really know if it is a popular video.
First hundred at the international level
It was against New Zealand in early 2010. I played very positively, and was prepared for that game. I played my shots, played my natural game. I have always thought back to the innings, and feel happy about it.
First time I danced after a win
After we beat West Indies in the fifth ODI in Mirpur last year. We won the series 3-2, and before the match I told the boys in the dressing room that we should do the Gangnam if we win. Everyone agreed to do it, but we didn't practise it, as was reported. But it was fun doing it in the end.
