The ICA Board decided to approve the recommendation of management and coaching staff, selecting Yaniv Razpurker as 2012 Player of the Year. Apart from another successful season on the domestic scene with his club Neve Yonatan with both bat and ball,
Yaniv was one of the outstanding players for Israel at the European Championships in Corfu in September. His innings of 25 off just 10 balls was instrumental in Israel's win over Portugal, against Luxembourg he settled a nervous chase with 19*, and against Malta contributed 17 in a low scoring game. A recurring hamstring injury unfortunately ruled him out of the remainder of the tournament, undoubtedly a contributing factor in Israel's eventual disappointing semi-final defeat against the Isle of Man.
Apart from his performances, Razpurker, a product of Israel's youth development program who represented Israel through the age groups, continues to set the standard in sportsmanship and conduct both on and off the field, making him one of the most well-liked and respected cricketers in the country.
