T20 finalists confirmed

Sri Lanka Jerusalem will play their Tel Aviv countrymen in the Division 1 T20 final, whilst Young Sri Lanka, in just their first season, have a chance for silverware when they play Lions Be'er Sheva in the Division 2 final. Both matches will be played on September 1st. Besides for Sri Lanka Tel Aviv, who had already booked their spot in the final, the remaining places were all decided on the final weekend of round robin matches.

Jerusalem defeated Lod Rangers by four wickets in Lod on Saturday, successfully chasing down their target of 156 with four wickets and two overs in hand. In Division 2, Tel Aviv defeated Ra'anana 2 easily in their first game at Hadar Yosef on Friday to set up a Northern Group winners take all clash against Young Sri Lanka. Although Tel Aviv would have fancied their chances having dismissed the Young Lankans for 107, they managed just 78 in reply. In the Southern Group, Lions Be'er Sheva defeated Ashdod A by nine wickets at Ashdod on Saturday, cruising to their target of 110 with nine wickets and six overs to spare. Although Ashdod went on to beat Kiryat Gat in their afternoon game, leaving both teams with three wins and one defeat, Lions secured their final spot courtesy of their win over the closest rivals, despite finishing with an inferior run rate.

After the recent T20 action, the focus now returns to the league. This weekend sees Ra'anana, who slumped to three straight defeats in the T20 format, play Lod Rangers on Friday, whilst Neve Yonatan meet Sri Lanka Tel Aviv and Lions Lod host Be'er Sheva. In Division 2 Kiryat Gat play Young Sri Lanka.
