The domestic T20 season is in full swing with a number of exciting matches having already taken place so far, including over the past weekend.
On Friday in Ashdod, Young Ashdod piled on the runs, 190 to be exact, against defending champions Ra'anana, needing to win to stay in the tournament after an opening round defeat to Lod Rangers. The visitors were never in the hunt against a quality attack led by Sri Lankan quicks Manjula and Kapila, finishing 56 runs short on 134. In Saturday's games,
Sri Lanka Tel Aviv took a giant step towards qualifying for the final from Group B, successfully chasing down their 141-run target against Super Lions Lod in Lod with three wickets and eight balls to spare. The Lankans now just need to defeat Be'er Sheva in their final group game to qualify for the final, seemingly a formality considering the Negev team is yet to win a game in any format so far this season, defeated by seven wickets by Neve Yonatan in Ashdod on Saturday.
In Division 2 games, Tel Aviv finally had something to smile about this season, defeating Petah Tikva by eight wickets with ten balls to spare to record their first win of the year, whilst in the Southern Group Ashdod A defeated Dimona C by 49 runs.
