Australia suffered their first World Cup defeat for a record 35 matches and 142 months
Pakistan were the last team to beat Australia in a World Cup fixture, having pipped them by 10 runs at Headingley in May 1999.
Australia's total of 176 was the first time they had been bowled out in a World Cup match since the semi-final against South Africa in 1999, in which they made 213.
It was also their lowest total in any World Cup fixture since 1992, when they made 172 - again against Pakistan - at Perth.
