Peter Ingram is hunting ducks
We know he loves to hunt pigs. We know he can cut the pigs right through their heart. But can he score a run please? Today, he got a good ball; it seamed in after landing in line and he was trapped right in front. He has two ducks and a total of six runs from three games. Perhaps, it's time to visit that great Blackcap, Chris Martin, for a coaching session.
The captaincy move of the day. Not
When Jamie How started off fluently, Davey Jacobs removed the second slip. A ball later, How edged Lonwabo Tsostobe right where that fielder was. Tsotsobe yelped in agony, Mark Boucher winced and Jacobs shrugged.
Elbowed out
Jamie How sent Keiran Noema-Barnett back after turning one to midwicket. The throw came to the bowler Johan Botha who searched for the stumps behind him. His hands moved past the stumps and as he tried to correct his mistake, his elbow broke the stumps. The bat didn't seem to be in when the bails came off but it wasn't given out. The third umpire took more than 2 minutes to arrive at the decision. Warriors had got a word from the dressing room that it was out and so they had got together to celebrate. They eventually broke away and got to the respective positions and waited. Did the umpire rule it not out because the elbow broke the stumps (Law 28.1 says that is out) or did he think the bat was in?
Ouch!
Noema-Barnett swung one high between long-on and deep midwicket. Kreusch ran across from long-on and ran straight into Tsotsobe who went down in pain. The crowd went silent, Kreusch called for the medical team and after a while Tsotsobe stood up. The crowd roared.
Brutal shot of the day
As he often does, Davey Jacobs walked across the stumps and waited; Adam Milne dropped it short. Blink. The ball landed on the roof and tumbled out of the stadium. New balls please.
