Victoria v Wayamba, Group D, Champions League, Delhi

Jeevantha Kulatunga and Michael Vandort chipped in with 40-plus scores and added 81 for the second wicket, but they consumed too many deliveries. They failed to push on at the start and were dismissed after being set. Acceleration at an earlier stage would have helped Wayamba reach a higher total, and increased Victoria's qualification target.

Shane Harwood bowled an economical spell, taking 3 for 14 to help limit Wayamba to 119. He used his variations to good effect and cut the ball both ways to prove lethal at the death, as he dismissed Jehan Mubarak, Kaushal Lokuarachchi and Farveez Maharoof.

Lokuarachchi had an off day, as he was dismissed for a duck and conceded 18 in his only over, the 18th of the innings. Though Victoria were within close range of reaching the qualification target of 84, Lokuarachchi hastened Wayamba's exit from the tournament as he was smashed for three fours and a six by Andrew McDonald. The Victorian allrounder ensured progression to the next stage was ensured with minimum fuss.
