Ayub unable to prevent Sri Lanka levelling series

Sri Lanka U-19 165 beat Bangladesh U-19 151 (Ayub 90, Fernando 4-20) by 14 runs
Scorecard

Sri Lanka squared the five-match Under-19 one-day series with a 14-run victory over Bangladesh in the second ODI at Bogra.
As the Sri Lankans had done on Wednesday, Bangladesh fielded on winning the toss and the decision seemed to pay off as Sri Lanka limped to 165. It could have been worse, as they were 15 for 3 at one stage, with Rubel Hossain blasting through the top order. Opener Lahiru Thirimanne (47) and Mathurage Perera (38) restored order in a fourth-wicket stand of 76 and Roshen Silva, who was last man out for 42, chipped in with useful late runs.

Bangladesh's start was even worse as they crashed to 18 for 5, Denuwan Fernando doing the damage with 4 for 20. Marshall Ayub then fought what amounted to a lone battle as he found support from his team-mates flimsy. He ground his way to 90, with only four fours in his 146-ball stay

The end of the game was tense as he added 20 for the last wicket with Subashis Roy and the Sri Lankans nerves grew as the target appeared closer. With 14 needed off eight balls, however, Ayub was forced to chance his arm and his luck finally ran out.
