The West Indies board (WICB) has lodged an official complaint with the ICC about the standard of umpiring in the recent series in Australia. The board has asked for the results of the video assessment of each of the decisions to be reported back to them as soon as possible.
In a statement, the board made it clear that they were not criticising the standards of umpiring in general, just those of this particular series. "The board is aware that the overall standard of umpiring has improved with the introduction of the elite panel with a correct decision making percentage in the range of 94 to 95% and for this reason is disappointed that the decision making during the series appeared to be below the normally high standard." Australia won the series 3-0 and its on-field officials were Ian Howell, Rudi Koertzen, Aleem Dar and Billy Bowden.
