Boland moved into a commanding position on the second dayat Stellenbosch, declaring on 345, before reducing Zimbabwe Under-23s to 125 for 5 by the close. Zimbabwe are still 49 runs behind, with five wickets remaining. Gerhard Strydom converted his century early on, and he put 78 for the sixth wicket to stabilise the innings following a middle order collapse where four wickets fell for 34 runs. Allan Mwayenga did the bulk of the damage, taking 5 for 67 in all. Gregory Strydom led the reply with 56, but he was run out shortly before the close.
North West are in firm control at Johannesburg after Gauteng closed on 23 for 2 at The Wanderers, still requiring a whopping 374 for an unlikely victory. The home side's day got off to a poor start as they lost their last five wickets for 32 runs amid an onslaught led by Frikkie Holtzhauzen who took 5 for 25 from 19 overs. North West scored steadily in their second innings and eventually declared on 304 for 7. In the five overs possible before the end of play, Gauteng managed to lose both openers and are precariously placed heading into the third day.
Western Province continued to have the upper hand at Newlands on the second day against Border. They bowled out the visitors for 256, with Siraaj Conrad taking 5 for 64 from 17.1 overs, and then moved on to 155 for 2 by stumps.
