Graeme Smith, the South African captain, has said that losing the Super Test to Australia has made him realise how much he enjoys playing for South Africa.
"It was a unique, interesting experience across in Australia, but probably one of the most frustrating of my career," Smith was quoted as saying by BBC Sport. "I found it tough to deal with the fact that there were no consequences to losing so badly."
"The guys [World XI] just drifted off afterwards on their separate ways," said Smith. "Playing for your country, and what that means, gives you that little bit extra. Now when I see our work ethic, our fitness, our skills and the environment we've produced around the team, I know we're on the right path."
Smith, Jacques Kallis, Shaun Pollock and Mark Boucher have returned to South Africa as they prepare to make their Pro20 debut against New Zealand on October 21 at Johannesburg.
