In the 3rd year of the annual school cricket competition in Bali, junior High School Angkasa proved too strong for the favoured Sunari High in the final at the Bukit Cricket Ground in Udayana Uni last Friday.
Six High Schools competed for the Trophy donated by Tim Anderson of the I.C.C. Significantly, Angkasa is an Islamic High School of only 150 pupils, whilst last years winners Sunari Loca are a Hindu private School of 1500 pupils. They had previously won every game leading up to the final.
Putra Darmawan won the toss for Angkasa and elected to bat which seemed to throw Sunari, who yielded 139 runs from the allotted 25 overs. They then collapsed to be all out for 45.

ANGKASA WON BY 96 RUNS
Sunari never recovered from the early loss of Nengha,Suda and Urip who was caught hooking on the boundary and then Deni Rahman who had been showing some promise with the bat was knocked out by a short one from Putra-which actuarially got up head high - though it must be remembered that these kids are all knee high to a grasshopper. The Angkasa keeper holding those first 3 catches is a good sign of standard improvement as the kids learn that good fast bowling on the off peg does lead to catches behind the wicket.
Well done Soni, in organizing the 3rd annual school comp and presentations were made at the end by B.I.C.C. PRESIDENT Ian Jasper.
Thanks must go to School Principals Wayan Saadi-Sunari and Pak Suarwinaya- Ankasa
Thanks also to Wayan Suci for his attendance and especially Pak Sumantra from Sunari, who came to every game and organized transport.
