Record breaking One -Day action in ICC Cricket World

Record breaking one day international cricket from around the globe features in the latest edition of the ICC Cricket World television programme, to be shown on Channel 4 in the UK at 8:30 am on Saturday 13th April.

Heading the bill is the tremendous Australian victory at Port Elizabeth against the unfortunate Proteas; batting first the home team scored 326 for 3, a tremendous performance which would have been good enough to win most matches. Australia had other ideas however as they set of at 10 an over for the first five overs and reached 123 for 3 from the first 15 overs, eventually the visitors won by 3 wickets. The home team saved themselves from a series whitewash by winning the final game at Newlands thanks to a number of good performances, notably from Nicky Boje with a 5 wicket haul.

Action from the triangular tournament in Sharjah comes from the first 2 games - Pakistan v Sri Lanka and New Zealand v Sri Lanka. Sanath Jayasuriya provided the fireworks in the first game racing to 87 from 78 balls in an innings which included 10 4's and 3 6's - Sri Lanka scored 242 and then dismissed Pakistan for 201. The New Zealand/Sri Lanka game was a much more dramatic affair as the Kiwi's took the last Sri Lankan wicket in the final over to win by 11 runs despite an earlier 5 wicket hall for Muralitharan.

Other features in the programme include a look at some of the current best in the world of international one day cricket and a profile of Zimbabwe stalwart Heath Streak.

A feature on Wisden completes this week's line-up.
