Umpires Darrel Hair and Simon Taufel officiated in their 68th and 19th match respectively. It was also the 42nd day-night match in which Hair was officiating. He is now just one short of equalling compatriot Steve Randell's record tally of 43 matches.

It took him 57 matches and as many innings to do so. He is the 16th batsman in all ODIs to reach this milestone. Incidentally Australia's Mark Waugh holds the record of aggregating most runs in floodlit matches with 4012 runs in 114 matches.
West Indies' total (178) was its second lowest against Zimbabwe. The lowest still remains as 91 in the sixth match of this series at Sydney.The total was also the fifth lowest first innings winning total for West Indies.
Zimbabwe's total (134) was its lowest in a World Series Cup match. The previous lowest was 138 at Sydney also against West Indies in the sixth match of this series.
