Toronto, Canada: The Cricket Council of the Americas (CCAM) is proud to announce the first-ever Global Cricket Development Symposium and Under-13 International Invitational Cricket Tournament to be held in the Americas.
The symposium and tournament will take place the week of October 14, 2001 at the Disney's Wide World of Sports Complex* in Orlando, Florida.
CCAM is the officially recognized Regional Council of the International Cricket Council (ICC) in South, Central and North America. The Council of the Americas comprises the following member Cricket Associations: Argentine Cricket Association, Bahamas Cricket Association, Belize National Cricket Association, Bermuda Cricket Board of Control, Brazil Cricket Association, Canadian Cricket Association, Cayman Islands Cricket Association, Costa Rica Cricket Association, National Commission for Cricket in Cuba, Panama Cricket Association, Turks & Caicos Cricket Association, United States of America Cricket Association and the West Indies Cricket Board.
The three-day Global Cricket Development Symposium will take place at the Hotel Royal Plaza in Orlando and bring together cricket development leaders from around the world to discuss, network and expand the game of cricket.
Topics will include expansion of youth cricket, development of regional programs, national alliances and future projects.
The 2001 Under-13 International Invitational Cricket Tournament at Disney's Wide World of Sports Complex* will support and promote the expansion the of the game of cricket in non-Test nations.
Youngsters from around the world will be invited to participate in this tournament.
