The ninth wicket unbroken partnership of 53 runs between Wasim Akram and Mushtaq Ahmed was Pakistan's best for this wicket against West Indies - home or away. This expunged previous record partnership of 41* runs between Ijaz Faqih and Rashid Khan at Adelaide on 28-01-1984. Incidentally the previous record stand for Pakistan against West Indies in West Indies was paltry 11 runs between Rashid Latif and Ata-ur-Rahman at Kingstown on 30-03-1993.
