NOTE: We might not always be able to tip you off about late injury (or other relevant) updates, so do keep an eye on team information at the toss before making your final picks.

Captain: Mohammad Nabi
His batting form has gone better after a sedate start, but it's his wicket-taking ability that makes him an attractive choice. He's taken 11 wickets at an average of 16.54 and an economy of 5.35. He also has the season's best bowling figures of 5 for 15. Remember, the pitch has seen a lot of cricket this past month.

Vice-captain: Imran Tahir
Your real wicket-taking man. His 15 scalps puts him on top of the wickets' list this season so far, and the pitch is expected to suit spinners.

Hot Picks
Scott Kuggeleijn: After a slow start to the season, the New Zealand allrounder has hit the straps so well that he is the leading wicket-taker among pacers despite playing one game fewer than most others. He often takes wickets in heaps, and bowls two at the top and two at the death. He is one of only two seamers to take a four-wicket haul.

Nicholas Pooran: If you're backing Amazon Warriors to win (considering they have reached five finals before), then Pooran will likely play an important role. He has averaged nearly 30 in a low-scoring tournament and is the season's only centurion.

Value picks

Mark Deyal: He's slow to get going, but brings handy runs to the table batting at No. 3, an attractive batting spot. With rain a real possibility, stack up on batsmen who bat higher up the order in case it's a short game.

Naveen-ul-Haq: He's Amazon Warriors' second wicket-taking option, and it's worth keeping him in case Tahir has an off day. To be fair, Naveen hasn't been too shabby - his 11 wickets have come at an average of 17.63.

Najibullah Zadran: Like Deyal, he bats higher up the order compared to the other options that the Zouks might have. His strike rate of 108.69 doesn't look pretty at first glance, but it reflects his role in this team.

Point to note

  • Back your spinners generally, but in case there's rain in the horizon, then beef up on your top-order batsmen instead of finishers. Especially those who are likely to feature in the first half of the fixture.
