Captain: Colin Munro

Colin Munro's season has been a tale of two halves. In the initial five games, he scored only 85 runs at a strike rate of 113.33 but in the next seven games, he scored 319 runs at a strike rate of 139.91. Munro has been a rock in the middle overs for Scorchers scoring 252 runs at an average of 63 and a strike rate of 143.18.

Vice-captain: Marnus Labuschange

The leading run-scorer in the recent Test series against India with 426 runs in four games, Labuschagne has carried that batting form into the BBL. He has been the highest fantasy points aggregator for his side in both the games he has played so far. His scores with the bat are 28 and 49. He surprised everyone by being amongst the wickets in both the games.

Hot Picks

Chris Lynn: The leading run scorer for Heat in this BBL season, Lynn has scored 369 runs in just nine games at a strike rate of 152.47. He is also the third highest six-hitter this season with 20 hits beyond the rope so far. Against Scorchers, he has scored 511 runs at an average of 51.10.

Jhye Richardson: Australia new pace sensation is the leading wicket taker in BBL10 with 26 strikes in 13 games at an average of 12.07. In the three BBL games he played at Adelaide Oval, he has picked up eight wickets at an economy of 6.50.

Jason Roy: The specialist opener from England is one of the safest picks in BBL10 so far having recorded scores of 20 or above in eight of the ten games. He has accumulated 311 runs in ten games at a strike rate of 134.63.

Differential Picks

Mitchell Marsh: Injuries have given the younger Marsh a problem recently and just when he regained full fitness to bat and bowl in the same game, he had another setback. Now fit enough only to bat, he is a key player for Scorchers having been destructive in death overs scoring 62 runs in just 32 balls and getting dismissed only once in BBL10. Overall, he has scored 199 runs at an average of 33.16.

Mitchell Swepson: The legspinner picked up 3 for 23 in his four overs against India in the recent series and was named the Player of the Match. Although he missed a majority of the season due to national commitments, he came back and picked up 2 for 26 in his last outing against the Renegades.

Alternate Scenarios

  • Jason Behrendorff can replace Andrew Tye.

  • Chris Lynn and Jhye Richardson are the alternate captaincy choices.
