Kevin Garnett apparently will throw teammates' phones in the toilet

Kevin Garnett is a rather intense fellow.

Known league-wide for his merciless trash-talking, Garnett also apparently doesn't hold back when it comes to his teammates.

Just ask Flip Saunders, who coached Garnett in his previous stint with the Minnesota Timberwolves, and now is welcoming back the 38-year-old after a trade with the Brooklyn Nets. According to Saunders in the Pioneer Press, what the sure Hall of Famer lacks in athleticism these days, he makes up for with an air of intimidation.

"As one of our veteran guys told our young guys yesterday, 'Hey, listen, when KG walks in the locker room your phones better be tucked away, because if they're not, they're going to get thrown in the toilet on game night.'"

In the toilet?? Sure, all players on guaranteed deals get at least $500,000 per season -- usually much, much more -- but still. New phones run in the hundreds without contract renewal! Plus, NBA players are busy guys. What if Ricky Rubio or Anthony Bennett hasn't backed up in weeks, and he's caught texting before tipoff? Think of the contacts he might lose!

Not shockingly, Garnett does not maintain an official Twitter account, and his Facebook page hasn't been updated since September.

Kevin Garnett, enemy of progress.
