Fantasy basketball 30: Michael Porter Jr.'s golden scoring run in Denver

Michael Porter Jr. has been picking up the scoring lately for the Denver Nuggets. Troy Taormina-USA TODAY Sports

Who is trending up? Which rotations are changing? And what's the latest with the notable injuries around the NBA?

Here's a list of the most fantasy relevant news and notes for all 30 teams:

Atlanta Hawks: Clearly, the Trae Young injury and return date are the biggest situations to watch with the Hawks. He's already missed three games with a sprained ankle, but Hawks GM Travis Schlenk said he might be ready to return to game action by the end of the week. Kevin Huerter and Brandon Goodwin have each started in Young's absence, but each also suffered their own injuries and are questionable to play in the short term. Kris Dunn made his Hawks debut off the bench on Monday, but he and veteran Lou Williams could be called upon for larger roles as the injuries pile up.

Boston Celtics: Jayson Tatum (ankle), Kemba Walker (side) and Robert Williams (knee) all missed Tuesday's game due to injury. Walker has already been declared out for Wednesday as well, but there is some hope that Tatum and/or Williams might be able to return. Evan Fournier played 35 minutes on Tuesday, and is likely the biggest recipient of extra minutes and opportunity while Walker is out.

Brooklyn Nets: Kevin Durant is back from the thigh injury that kept him out for three games last week, and moved back into the starting lineup and more typical playing time on Tuesday. With Durant and Kyrie Irving utilizing most of the usage, the other perimeter Nets return to role player status even with James Harden still sidelined. Blake Griffin remains of interest in the frontcourt, as even in a diminished bench role he has mid-double figures scoring potential nightly.

Charlotte Hornets: LaMelo Ball (wrist) may make his return to practice as soon as Thursday, but he's still at least a few days away from returning to game action. His return would be a boon for a Hornets squad trying to make the playoffs, but the team has reached a steady state of production with guys like P.J. Washington, Miles Bridges and Cody Martin putting numbers on the board next to Terry Rozier and Devonte' Graham. Ball's impending return could eat into their production.

Chicago Bulls: Zach LaVine continues to miss time due to COVID-19 protocols, and isn't with the team on their current road trip. His return date is unclear, but couldn't come before Friday at the earliest. Coby White has clearly been the biggest beneficiary of the increased opportunity, averaging 19.1 PPG, 6.1 APG, 3.7 RPG and 2.7 3PG during LaVine's seven-game absence.

Cleveland Cavaliers: Collin Sexton will miss his third straight game on Wednesday, due to a concussion. Concussions can be open-ended injuries, and require that he complete a protocol before his return, so it isn't clear how long he'll be sidelined. Cedi Osman has started in Sexton's absence, played at least 37 minutes in both games, and is averaging 12.5 PPG, 4.5 APG, 3.5 RPG and 2.5 3PG. Osman is available in 91.6% of leagues, for those looking for a short-term producer.

Dallas Mavericks: Kristaps Porzingis injured his ankle last week, and has missed three straight games and counting. He is questionable for Thursday, but his return date is not clear. Dwight Powell produced 25 points and nine boards in the first of those three games, but combined for eight points and 13 boards in the next two outings. Maxi Kleber is also worth paying attention to while Porzingis is out, as he's flirted with low double-doubles in two of the three games.

Denver Nuggets: Michael Porter Jr. exploded onto the NBA scene last season during the bubble, while Jamal Murray was out, and this season he's reprising that energy with Murray done for the season. Porter has averaged 32.0 PPG, 6.0 RPG, 6.0 3PG and 2.0 BPG in his last three outings, and is playing like a fantasy first rounder as we enter the fantasy postseason.

Detroit Pistons: Cory Joseph and Killian Hayes are battling for the top point guard spot for the Pistons, with Dennis Smith Jr. battling injury. Hayes is the prize rookie, but Joseph has had the upper hand of late, averaging 17.0 PPG, 4.3 APG and 2.0 3PG in his last three outings. Joseph is available in 91.4% of leagues.

Golden State Warriors: The Warriors currently sit in the 10th spot out West, holding onto the final play-in position by 3.5 games over the Pelicans. While Draymond Green is on record that the play-in doesn't motivate him at this point in his career, the playoffs push may be enough to keep the Warriors playing their veterans big minutes down the stretch. This would be great news for those with Stephen Curry or Green on their rosters, but could prevent role players like Jordan Poole or Juan Toscano-Anderson from earning larger roles down the stretch.

Houston Rockets: John Wall tweaked his hamstring and is expected to miss the rest of the season. As I'd mentioned in a Hoops Lab video last month, the Rockets are deep into rebuild mode and likely want to get their young players as many minutes as possible. Jae-Sean Tate has gotten the bump in the first two games with Wall out, averaging 17 PPG, 5 RPG, 4 APG and 3 SPG in 30.5 MPG. Tate is available in 49.1% of leagues.

Indiana Pacers: The Pacers' big men continue to battle injury, with Domantas Sabonis (back), Myles Turner (toe) and Goga Bitadze (ankle) all in the midst of multi-game absences. Oshea Brisset has been the big beneficiary of the added opportunity, averaging 16.3 PPG, 10.3 RPG, 2.5 3PG and 2.3 BPG in his last four outings. Brissett is available in 77% of leagues.

LA Clippers: Kawhi Leonard (foot), Serge Ibaka (back) and Patrick Beverley (hand) continue to miss games for the Clippers. Terance Mann has played well in his added minutes over the last week, averaging 13.7 PPG, 4.3 RPG, 3.3 APG and 1.3 3PG in 33.3 MPG in his last three outings.

Los Angeles Lakers: Anthony Davis has been playing himself into shape in his three games since returning from a 30-game absence, and improved to 18 points and eight rebounds in 31 minutes in his last outing. He is listed as probable for Wednesday, and still has some question marks, but appears deployable for the remainder of the fantasy playoffs.

Memphis Grizzlies: Jaren Jackson Jr. made his season debut last week, and has played in three of the four games since. He's averaged 16 PPG, 6 RPG and 1.7 BPG in 21.3 MPG as he works himself up into game shape. His availability is still a question mark, but his production is undeniable enough to make him worthy of consideration even through the questions.

Miami Heat: Tyler Herro (foot) and Kendrick Nunn (neck) are both questionable on Wednesday, after having sat out on Monday. They've joined Victor Oladipo (knee) on the sidelines, and if they continue to sit it opens up space for Goran Dragic (available in 62.8% of leagues) and Duncan Robinson (available in 51.5%) to potentially expand their roles.

Milwaukee Bucks: The Bucks are one of the healthier teams in the NBA right now, with all of their main rotation players available. This hasn't been good news for Donte DiVincenzo, who has struggled with his shot and fewer opportunities of late to the tune of 7.6 PPG, 5.4 RPG, 3.1 APG and 1.1 3PG in his last seven outings.

Minnesota Timberwolves: After battling injury for half-a-season then battling roster instability for weeks after that, Karl-Anthony Towns and the Timberwolves seem to have found their level. The Timberwolves have won three straight games and four of five overall, including two wins over the first place Jazz, and Towns has led the way with 25.6 PPG, 10.6 RPG, 4.2 APG, 2.4 3PG and 1.0 BPG while shooting 50.6% from the field and 8.00% from the line during those five games.

New Orleans Pelicans: Steven Adams missed Monday's game with a sprained toe, and his status for Wednesday's game and beyond in up in the air. Willy Hernangomez (available in 99.2% of leagues) started in his place on Monday, and produced a double-double. In three starts this season, Hernangomez has averaged 9.0 PPG, 12.0 RPG, 1.3 SPG and 0.7 BPG in 25.7 MPG.

New York Knicks: Reggie Bullock (available in 77.8% of leagues) has quietly settled in as a reliable scoring option for the Knicks just in time for the fantasy playoffs. He's averaging 16.4 PPG, 4.2 3PG, 3.4 RPG and 2.6 APG in 36.2 MPG in his last five outings.

Oklahoma City Thunder: Luguentz Dort is still available in 62.5% of leagues, in large part because the Thunder have been sporadic with their starting lineups and "load management" down the stretch of a lost season. He's played in two of the last three games, including their upset win on the road against the Celtics, and produced strong numbers in both. In the last five games he's played, which spans over nine Thunder games, he has averaged 27.8 PPG, 5.8 RPG, 3.8 3PG, 2.0 APG and 1.6 SPG in 34.0 MPG. You don't know when he'll play these days, but when he does he's giving clear top-40 production.

Orlando Magic: James Ennis will return Wednesday after having missed his last five games with a calf injury. He had started 12 straight games before the injury, but was up-and-down as a scorer. In the eight games before his last outing, he'd averaged 12.0 PPG, 4.1 RPG, 2.3 APG, 1.5 3PG and 1.1 SPG in 30.6 MPG.

Philadelphia 76ers: Ben Simmons returned from a four-game illness related absence on Monday, making this one of the few times in recent weeks when the entire 76ers starting lineup is healthy together. The team is battling the Nets for the top seed in the East, so expect their primary players to play full minutes down the stretch.

Phoenix Suns: Jae Crowder has missed three straight games with a sprained ankle, and is questionable for Wednesday. Mikal Bridges was already playing well, and has picked up the slack even further with Crowder out to the tune of 16.4 PPG, 2.8 RPG, 2.6 APG, 2.2 3PG and 1.0 SPG in 39.4 MPG in his last five outings.

Portland Trail Blazers: While all eyes have been on Damian Lillard's ouchy hamstring and shooting slump, teammate Jusuf Nurkic has quietly started rounding into form. After dealing with limited minutes since his return, he's played 29 minutes in three of his last four games. He's also turned in three straight double-doubles, averaging 17.7 PPG, 15.3 MPG, 4.7 APG, 1.3 BPG and 1.0 SPG during that stretch.

Sacramento Kings: De'Aaron Fox has been sidelined due to COVID protocols, and is expected to miss at least 10-14 days from the announcement on April 23rd. This absence would stretch through much of the fantasy playoffs, and opens the door for Delon Wright to potentially play impact minutes. Wright hasn't been impressive in the first two games without Fox, scoring exactly seven points with six rebounds in both, but he does have some upside and is available in 41 percent of leagues.

San Antonio Spurs: Derrick White sprained his ankle on Monday, is listed as 'out' for Wednesday and has no set timetable for a return. Coach Gregg Popovich noted that his injury "doesn't look good", so he may be out a little while. White had been playing his best ball of the season, and his absence opens the door for Lonnie Walker and/or Patty Mills to potentially play more minutes.

Toronto Raptors: Gary Trent Jr. has missed two straight games with a bruised leg, and is already listed as 'out' for Thursday. Malachi Flynn (available in 92.6% of leagues) has taken advantage of extra opportunity to average 15.5 PPG, 4.0 APG, 3.5 RPG, 1.5 3PG and 1.5 SPG in those two games.

Utah Jazz: Donovan Mitchell remains sidelined with a sprained right ankle. He's missed five straight games, and isn't expected to be re-evaluated before next week. Jordan Clarkson has gotten extra run in his absence, averaging 19.8 PPG, 4.4 RPG, 3.8 APG, 3.0 3PG and 1.0 SPG in 31.8 MPG in those five games.

Washington Wizards: Rui Hachimura returned from a four-game absence with a respectable 13 points, six boards, a steal, a block and a 3-pointer in 32 minutes on Monday. Available in 55% of leagues, Hachimura could be a functional role player for those in need.
