Serie A high-flyers Inter Milan claimed their third 1-0 win in succession as Geoffrey Kondogbia's first-half strike saw off Torino on Sunday.

Summer signing Kondogbia notched his first goal since joining Inter from Monaco with a volleyed finish in the 31st minute.

That came just moments after Torino had hit the bar through Marco Benassi, and the hosts subsequently fashioned some good chances to equalise.

But Inter held out for their third straight 1-0 victory -- among a total of seven they have recorded this term.

The visitors' first real chance came in the 10th minute when Mauro Icardi headed over, Bruno Peres swiftly replying with a strike wide at the other end.

Benassi then came close to breaking the deadlock as he lofted an effort from outside the box on to the top of the bar.

But within seconds, it was Inter who grabbed the lead, France international Kondogbia arriving at the back post to meet a free kick from Yuto Nagatomo that had been flicked on by Rodrigo Palacio.

Torino put up a considerable fight in the second half, with Samir Handanovic being called upon three minutes in to produce a superb double save that denied Fabio Quagliarella and Andrea Belotti from close range.

Handanovic then comfortably dealt with a low Quagliarella effort soon after, and tipped a strike wide of the near post from the same man in the final 10 minutes.
