Real Sociedad 1-1 Málaga

Imanol Agirretxe stepped off the bench to rescue Real Sociedad with a late equaliser in a 1-1 home draw against Primera Division rivals Malaga.Striker Agirretxe, a 74th-minute replacement for Bruma, applied a thumping finish to a knockdown following a late free-kick to cancel out Duje Cop's second-half opener for Malaga.Sociedad were denied a fifth straight league win, while Malaga, who held Real Madrid last week, maintained their climb away from relegation trouble and have lost just one of their last five league games.Striker Mikel Oyarzabal flashed an early angled shot just wide for Sociedad, who went even closer in the 15th minute when Portuguese striker Bruma's low shot was turned away by Malaga goalkeeper Carlos Kameni.Kameni denied Sociedad again soon after when parrying Inigo Martinez's header, but Malaga responded immediately through Croatian striker Cop, whose effort from outside the area was brilliantly saved by home goalkeeper Geronimo Rulli.Oyarzabal smashed a close-range drive against the crossbar in the 29th minute following a corner as Sociedad searched for the breakthrough.Malaga's Brazilian striker Charles headed just wide before the break and Bruma fired just wide as both sides continued to create chances.The tempo did not slacken in the second half and it was Malaga who took the lead in the 56th minute when Roberto Rosales teed up Cop to slam the ball home from close range.Sociedad midfielder Xabi Prieto and defender Diego Reyes both headed just wide midway through the second half and the home side were eventually rewarded for their pressure when substitute Agirretxe struck an 81st-minute equaliser.Xabi Prieto headed down a free-kick and Agirretxe smashed the ball home into the top corner.
