Both PSG and Monaco will have the chance to move ahead of Nice when they play their respective matches on Saturday.
Nice are on the longest current unbeaten run of any club in Europe's top five leagues, without a single league loss this season, having conceded only four goals.
Both teams were cautious in an uneventful first half, before the tempo increased after the break, with the hosts going closest to scoring when Akor Adams' header hit the post around the hour mark.
Nice, who are on their longest unbeaten streak since 1967, next face Toulouse on Nov. 26, while Montpellier, who are 12th with 12 points, play Brest the same day.
