Roy Keane's book launch - LIVE

Join ESPN FC's Alex Shaw and Kevin Palmer on the day of Roy Keane's official book launch in Dublin. Kevin's there at the Aviva Stadium ahead of the official launch and will provide the best lines from what promises to be an intriguing afternoon. Give him a follow: @kpsundayworld.

While Keane gets in early, Sir Alex Ferguson is due to speak as well so he's bound to have a pop back at his former skipper, with their once strong bond in tatters.

Get involved -- comments are at the bottom while you can tweet @AlexShawESPN too.

(Newest updates first, all times BST)

Final score: Bit of a let down, to be honest. Maybe Fergie's had enough of the jousting? He wasn't prepared to take the bait on Keane when he spoke, instead opting to lavish praise on his adversary.

5.00pm: Kevin's in Dublin for us and reports on Keane's feud with Ferguson and whether the pair will ever make up.

4.48pm: So, the first part of Keane was a taster for the main event and it looks as though we're in for a treat a bit later.

4.00pm: Let's recap the best bits from Keane:

On leaving Man Utd: "I knew it was time to leave United. There was propaganda being put out by United about the MUTV video that wasn't true.

"No one had an issue with that video apart from Ferguson and Queiroz. The way it was handled -- with statements and stuff coming out - I knew where they were coming from. It was lies and I bided my time. I decided I had waited long enough."

On Ferguson: Will I bump in to him? Probably. It's when people start to come out with nonsense, not just myself but other players. He made millions of pounds, his statue, a stand named after him. I gave everything to him. Would I forgive him? Let's see if we cross paths. I'm sure we will. Cross paths, that is."

On writing the book: "There have been things said that are lies and lies and lies. I wanted to put that right.

"There are people in this room who have mates who tell them lies about me. I was happy to let a lot of stuff go but in the end enough is enough. I got sucked in to the politics of the game when I was a player. I have had time to reflect."

And lastly ...

The beard: "I'm just lazy. If you want me to get rid of it, I might."

3.35pm: And we're done ... for now. Fascinating half hour or so with the man himself and as predicted, he got the first verbal jabs in against Ferguson. There's more to come today, though, as his former boss is due to speak later at the Dublin Chamber of Commerce. Talk about timing.

The conference with Keane was in two parts and everyone present had to sign a declaration confirming they wont spill the beans on part two until 10.30pm tonight. That's when the rest of the stuff will be available for you.

3.21pm: Keane goes for the throat ...

Keane: "Ferguson has pals in the media. Some of them are here today. I can spot them a mile off. I've waited long enough. So here we go. Ferguson said we'd come to an end. This video was just nonsense. The only people who had a problem with it was Ferguson and Carlos Queiroz.

"Managers get too much credit when things go right and too much criticism when things go wrong. It's the players that matter."

He's really going for Ferguson here. There's no doubt it's the legendary former United boss on his mind when he says: "For people to tarnish (my time at United) and have little digs, you have to come out fighting and enough's enough."

3.19pm: Leave it out Roy, you left United because you tore into your teammates on the club's own television channel!

3.15pm: This is gonna be good ...

3.11pm: SWEEPSTAKE WINNER -- whoever had three minutes or so for when Keane mentioned Ferguson. He may have retired eight years ago but the former United captain still loves a two-footed challenge: "Alex Ferguson criticised players who bought him a lot of success. He's got his statue. Why critcise people? Ridiculous."

3.10pm: Right, enough of the messing about. We're on. Keane asked whether he will ever forgive Ferguson: "Good question. I'm not sure. I will bump into him again I'm sure. Who knows.

"I had no plans to write a book, even when people were telling a pack of lies about me, but I'm glad I've done it now."

3.07pm: While we wait for the pleasantries and introductions to get out the way, BEARD GATE has started ...

Try telling that to Kev ...

3.02pm: Go back to 2.10pm and this'll make sense:

2.59pm:

2.51pm: EVERYONE KEEP CALM. The time is almost upon us. In 10 minutes or so, we'll be underway. The Aviva Stadium is packed with press, with some newspapers sending two journalists to cover this. It's a big deal. No three-match ban or five thousand pound fine coming Keane's way this time (he got that for saying he intended to injure Haaland in his previous book) but expect some more barbs at Fergie and company.

2.47pm: We're still waiting for Keane but at least there's muffins in the meantime ...

2.30pm: Anyone up for a sweepstake on how long it takes for Fergie to get a mention? Kev's got the promo handout in Dublin and he makes a good point ...

2.10pm: While you have the dubious pleasure of my company here, give @kpsundayworld a follow too. Our man Kevin is there and will hopefully grab a word with Roy at some point. The book's a belting read -- still laughing at this gem:

"I rang Mark Hughes. Robbie Savage wasn't in the Blackburn team and I asked Mark if we could try to arrange a deal. "Sparky said: 'Yeah, yeah he's lost his way here but he could still do a job for you.'

"Robbie's legs were going a bit but I thought he might come up to us [at Sunderland] with his long hair, and give us a lift - the way Yorkie had, a big personality in the dressing room.

"Sparky gave me permission to give him a call. So I got Robbie's mobile number and rang him. "It went to his voicemail: 'Hi it's Robbie - whazzup!' like the Budweiser ad. "I never called him back. I thought: "I can't be f------ signing that."'

1.50pm: Wonder how Mr. Keane feels about this then. Heading to the bargain bucket on the day of release ...

1.35pm: Before we get down to business, our man John Brewin has reviewed the book everyone is talking about and calls it a "vital, humorous" read. Have a look. Oh, and a bit of myth-busting ahead of the start: Keane's challenge on Alf-Inge Haaland didn't end the Norwegian's career -- he played for Norway four days later and started the next season for Manchester City too ...

Warm-up: Show me one person who enjoys international breaks over the thrill-a-minute drama of domestic league football and I'll show you a liar.

The void left by no Premier League, La Liga, Bundesliga, Serie A, Ligue 1 and the rest is vast while we whittle away the hours watching arduous friendly and qualification matches. In what other week would a parrot nearly saying "Falcao" get so much exposure?

Thankfully, we have a helping hand to get us through the tedium -- or in this case, a whopping great fist to the face. Yes, Roy Keane's got a book out and he's taken aim at anyone who dare cross his path. His feud with Sir Alex Ferguson has bubbled along nicely, with the pair taking pot-shots at each other in their respective autobiographies and Thursday promises to be exciting, as Keane holds a news conference to release "The Second Half".

Sure, Tesco may have gone early and released the book ahead of schedule but this is the first time we'll get to hear from Keane about its contents. For good measure, Fergie's speaking at the Dublin Chamber of Commerce's annual dinner as well and we'll be across all the action as it happens. Join Alex Shaw and Kevin Palmer throughout the day and together, we'll beat this international break.
