Former West Ham forward Alessandro Diamanti has joined Atalanta on loan from Guangzhou Evergrande after cutting short his year with Watford.
Diamanti, 32, made only three appearances for the Hornets, all as a substitute, having moved to the Premier League club on a season-long loan deal in August.

Now the Tuscan, who has also played for Fiorentina and Bologna in Serie A, is back in Italy with Atalanta and will be at coach Edy Reja's disposal for Saturday's meeting with Inter Milan.
A statement published on atalanta.it revealed Diamanti -- a 17-time Italy international -- would wear the No. 23 shirt at the Stadio Atleti Azzurri d'Italia.
