Here are today's top five emerging whispers. And keep an eye on Transfer Talk for all the latest gossip.

Ever Banega to Arsenal

Arsenal have already completed deals for Stephan Lichtsteiner and Bernd Leno this summer, and now the North Londoners have reportedly turned their attention to Argentine midfielder Banega, says the Daily Mirror. The 29-year-old's pedigree is well-established having played for Boca Juniors, Valencia and Sevilla and his high-energy style could work well for Unai Emery at the Emirates Stadium. Arsenal need some drive in midfield and Banega could bring that.

Demarai Gray to Lazio

Lazio has been an outpost for English footballing talent before. First there was Paul Gascoigne, then Ravel Morrison and now Demarai Gray could be next to pitch up in the Italian capital, according to the Leicester Mercury. However, Leicester City will demand at least €20 million for the England Under-21 international who has fallen out of favour at the King Power Stadium. With Riyad Mahrez's future still unresolved, Leicester might still want to hold on to Gray, though.

Rhian Brewster to Arsenal

Earlier this week reports surfaced that Brewster had committed his long-term future to Liverpool by signing a new contract. However, now it appears that pen has yet to be put to paper, with Arsenal and Spurs now hoping to snatch the teenager forward from under the nose of their Premier League rivals, according to The Sun. Brewster reportedly wants assurances from Jurgen Klopp that he will under consideration for some first-team football next season before signing a new deal at Anfield.

Dries Mertens to Chelsea

He kickstarted Belgium's World Cup campaign with a stunning volley against Panama and now Mertens is the subject of transfer speculation linking him with a move to Chelsea, according to the Daily Telegraph. Of course, Mertens has long been on the radar of Premier League clubs, having been a Manchester United transfer target in the past, but with Maurizio Sarri on the verge of becoming Chelsea manager the Belgian forward could now pitch up at Stamford Bridge.

Morgan Schneiderlin to Marseille

Things haven't gone so well for Schneiderlin since making the move to Everton from Manchester United 18 months ago. Expected to be a first-team regular at Goodison Park, the French midfielder struggled to find form for Everton last season, also suffering from Ronald Koeman and Sam Allardyce's mismanagement. New manager Marco Silva has made it clear he wants a clean slate to work with at Everton and so Schneiderlin, who still has three years left on his contract, could move to Marseille this summer according to France Football.
