Transfer Rater: Jack Grealish to Tottenham, Tiemoue Bakayoko to AC Milan

Things change in the blink of an eye in football. The Football Whispers Index takes the latest transfer rumours and gives them a score out of five; the higher the score, the more realistic and reliable the Whisper.

Here are today's top five emerging whispers. And keep an eye on Transfer Talk for all the latest gossip.

Jack Grealish to Tottenham Hotspur

Tottenham may finally make their first signing of the summer after making a £25m bid for Aston Villa midfielder Jack Grealish, according to The Telegraph. The 22-year-old is one of Villa's star players but is keen on a move to Spurs and the chance of playing in the Champions League. Grealish enjoyed a stellar 2017-18 campaign, scoring three goals and notching six assists as Villa lost out to Fulham in the Championship play-off final.

Lucas Perez to West Ham

The Hammers are poised to complete the £5m signing of the Arsenal striker on Wednesday, according to the Evening Standard. Perez struggled to establish himself with the Gunners after joining from Deportivo La Coruna in 2016, spending last season back on loan with the La Liga side.

Tiemoue Bakayoko to AC Milan

Bakayoko looks set to join the Italian side on loan with Chelsea having lined up a replacement in the shape of Matteo Kovacic, as per Sky Sports. A £40m arrival from Monaco last summer, Bakayoko struggled to settle in the Premier League and found himself out of favour at times under Antonio Conte. Conte's successor Maurizio Sarri evidently does not view Bakayoko as part of his plans, with the 23-year-old failing to even make the bench for the Community Shield defeat to Manchester City on Sunday.

James Ward-Prowse to Watford

Watford have bid £10m for Ward-Prowse with Hornets boss Javi Gracia trying to bolster his midfield options, according to The Sun. The 23-year-old one-time England international has spent his entire career at St Mary's, having made his senior debut at the age of 16 in 2011.

Jordan Ayew to Crystal Palace

Ayew has edged closer to clinching a move away from Swansea after the Ghanaian refused to train with the club. The 26-year-old striker, valued at £12m, was the Welsh side's leading scorer last season with 11 goals but has his heart set on a return to the Premier League following the Swans' relegation. Fulham had a bid for the former Aston Villa forward rejected earlier this summer but it appears that Palace are firmly in the running too, according to The Mirror.
