Rockies place Justin Morneau on 7-day DL with concussion symptoms

Colorado Rockies first baseman Justin Morneau, who has missed three games since he was injured while diving for a ground ball during Wednesday night's loss to the Los Angeles Angels, was placed on the seven-day concussion disabled list.

In addition to his concussion symptoms, he has a cervical neck sprain.

Morneau has suffered multiple concussions in his career, and missed much of the 2010 and 2011 seasons while dealing with concussion-related symptoms and other injuries.

The Rockies recalled infielder/outfielder Rafael Ynoa from Triple-A Albuquerque to fill Morneau's roster spot.

Morneau, who turned 34 on Friday, is batting .290 with three home runs and nine RBIs in 27 games this season.
