Gerardo Parra exits with ankle sprain after teammate collision

DENVER -- Colorado Rockies left fielder Gerardo Parra left Tuesday's 13-10 win over the New York Yankees in the third inning with a left ankle sprain.

He will have an MRI on Wednesday, the team said.

Parra was hurt while attempting to field a fly out by Jacoby Ellsbury, who was leading off the top of the third. As Parra settled under the shallow fly, shortstop Trevor Story made a diving attempt at the ball and rolled over Parra's lower left leg.

Parra slammed the outfield grass with his right hand, and the team trainers came out to him. He was helped onto a cart and taken off the field.

Parra is hitting .263 with five home runs and 27 RBIs in his first season with Colorado.
