Andrew Nicholson reaches four-year agreement with Wizards

Power forward Andrew Nicholson has agreed to a contract with the Washington Wizards.

Nicholson tweeted about his new team Sunday.

Agent Mark Bartelstein told ESPN's Marc Stein that Nicholson will receive a four-year, $26 million deal.

The 26-year-old Nicholson averaged 6.9 points and 3.6 rebounds in 56 games for the Orlando Magic last season. Since being the 19th overall draft pick in 2012 by Orlando, Nicholson has averaged 6.5 points and 3.2 rebounds in four NBA seasons, with a total of 36 starts.

Nicholson did not receive a qualifying offer from the Magic, making him an unrestricted free agent.

He is the second frontcourt addition in two days for the Wizards, who agreed Saturday to a four-year, $64 million contract with center Ian Mahinmi, according to The Undefeated and multiple reports.

The Wizards have also agreed to a five-year contract to keep shooting guard Bradley Beal, who was a restricted free agent.

Washington cleared plenty of cap space heading into the offseason, and even after the agreements with Nicholson, Mahinmi and Beal during the opening days of free agency, the team has only eight players signed.

Last season, the Wizards went 41-41 to finish 10th in the Eastern Conference, after making two trips in a row to the second round of the playoffs. Randy Wittman was fired as head coach and replaced by Scott Brooks.
