LOS ANGELES -- The Los Angeles Lakers brought back yet another former player to this season's roster by claiming Avery Bradley off waivers on Monday, the team announced. Bradley, who was cut by the Golden State Warriors after training camp, signed a non-guaranteed contract to join the Lakers, sources told ESPN. With both Trevor Ariza (ankle) and Talen Horton-Tucker (thumb) out while recovering from surgery, Bradley appealed to the Lakers as a reliable perimeter defender, possessing institutional knowledge of coach Frank Vogel's defensive schemes from his time with the team in 2019-20, sources said. Bradley averaged 8.6 points, 2.3 rebounds and 1.3 assists for L.A. in 49 regular-season games in 2019-20 before declining to join the team in the NBA bubble in Orlando, Florida, for its championship run, citing family health concerns. His addition makes it six players -- Bradley, Ariza, Dwight Howard, Rajon Rondo, Kent Bazemore and Wayne Ellington -- to have rejoined the team after having played a previous stint with the franchise. Bradley will occupy the Lakers' 15th and final roster spot for the time being. L.A. also filled its vacant two-way contract slot on Monday by signing Jay Huff, a 7-1 stretch big out of the University of Virginia.
